My Lenovo laptop won't turn on

My Lenovo laptop won't turn on. When I open it the screen lights up but stays black then won't do anything else. How do I fix it?????

After you turn it on, do you see a flashing cursor? if not, shine a flashlight at the screen, do you see a faint image? If so, the most likely explanation would be that the backlight's power inverter has died. In most cases it can be replaced.
If no image can be seen then that's another issue, let us know.
