Get an external keyboard and see if that works

My laptop started playing up with backspace not working. Today I noticed some liquid underneath that may have been spilled and gotten in. After drying out; I could not login as some letters wouldn't work. After messing around trying safe mode, getting in then not. I finally logged in. Tried looking at drivers etc and found all the keyboard worked once in. As soon as I shut down, the keyboard wont work again. Any ideas thanks
