You might also want to try starting up in "Safe Mode" and see if it works in there. If so, then there is likely something on the device that is the cause. If, however, it won't work, no matter what mode it is in, then I would suggest having it looked at. Either by the manufacturer if it is under warranty, or by a local tech if it is not.
