My Samsung tv, according to Samsung support is getting confused! This was their answer. I am using two HDMI outputs, HDMI#1 connected to a TIVO dvr. The TIVO receives a signal from the coax cable that is connected to an attic antenna which I use to catch major HD broadcasting stations. I ditched cable companies.
The second connection, HDMI#2 is connected to a streaming box, Mag 254. When I turn the tv on it always goes to the HDMI#2 connection even if it is on the HDMI#1 connection when I start. I always have to change over from HDMI#2 to HDMI#1.
I talked to a rep from Samsung and was given the above answer. No solution???
Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, the HDMI outputs were switched and the same situation occurred. Seemed that the output used by the Mag streaming box was the dedicated output regardless. There is no update re. firmware according to Samsung. There have been other problems with Samsung, one being with Netflix.
Yes, I did switch HDMI ports but it seems that the port with the Mag streaming box takes (priority) control. There is no firmware update for the tv. Samsung has not contacted me yet. Looks like they got their $$$ and ran!
