my remote stopped working, I replaced the batteries,still won't turn TV on. bought a generic control and it will not activate

I tried to activate the new controller by all three methods,, still no responce. the tv will work manually but its a hassel changing chanals etc. any

Try taking the batteries out of the remote and pressing down on each of the buttons. This was each circuit can discharge properly. Remotes sometimes get stuck and retain a kind of like memory as a result.

As silly as this sounds, make sure nothing is blocking the IR port on the TV that receives the signal from your remote.
