My screen just shows black after start up what can i do to fix this

It could be a loose video cable. Unplug the cable, then plug it back in; do on both ends. If that does not fix the issue, then...

#1 - Test cable on a different computer to insure the cable itself is not defective.
#2 - The monitor has broken and either needs to be repaired by a technician or replaced.
#3 - The graphics card could have failed and needs to be replaced.

If it is not #1 and not #2 and you are relying on integrated graphics (inside the processor itself) rather than a dedicated graphics card, then you need to purchase dedicated graphics card.
