My series 2 is a little slow...

I notice there is a pause between certain commands. The pause lasts one or
two seconds, it's not really a big deal, but I was wondering if there was
any way to upgrade the processor (though I realize this WILL void the
warranty). I haven't seen any proc upgrades for Tivos, so I'll bet it's
proprietary or soldered in or both...

You'll have to wait until the Comcast developers get involved with the
Tivo software.

Until then it's a bug o rama with Tivo's.

The slowness I am referring to really doesn't seem like a software problem,
I think they just went with cheap hardware in order to maximize profits.

Not here. My series 2 was much faster before the version 7 "tivo2go"
software upgrade was installed.

Strange. Mine was always slow from the day I got it in August 2003. I
haven't noticed any more slowness lately.
