My sony tv went black now the red light flashes 6 times then pauses then 6 more and keep repeating that. I have shut it off, unplugged it and it keeps doing the same thing

Can you please tell us your model number?

6 flashes can be many issues: a backlight issue, bad main board, power board or inverter board.........basically anything. Depending on your model, I can probably narrow down your error.
