Solved! My Toshiba is stuck on "Toshiba Leading Innovations" screen

I turned on my Toshiba Sattelite C50t-b1933 and it would not boot up but it would just be stuck in the " toshiba leading innovations" screen. By the way it is running linux. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First thing to try: remove the battery, unplug the AC adaptor and then press the power button for 30 seconds. If it doesn't work, try to remove the back cover and take out the CMOS battery, wait for 5-10 seconds then put it back and try to see if it works.
