True that.
I get random adds and I just deny them. People if you use myspace and some one adds you (except bands) look at their picture....if you don't know the person don't accept.

I completely agree with the intent of keeping children safe and preventing sex offenders from repeat offenses.

But... let's be honest about it. The rate of sex offenders among registered users on MySpace is less than the rate of sex offenders in the general population. This means that the entire world is "rife" with sexual predators.

[Data from national sex offenders register, about 500k offenders out of 285M population; data from report above: 90k offenders registered on MySpace; data from forrester analyst as posted on web strategist.com: 110M active users of myspace.

Disclaimers: some of the data points are from different time periods, however main different is that 90k offenders on myspace is a current and total figure; 100M is a year old and active figure, so rate of sex offenders among total users is even less than shown above.]

You have to take those numbers with a grain of salt though. I read an article in the paper about 3 16 year old kids from my old high school who are now registered sex offenders because they received naked pictures from their 14-15 year old girl friends. There might also also been some pictures of them having sex on there too, but they are all minors. I have heard of girls being charged with possession of "child porn" for having naked pictures of themselves on their phones. I dont know if she was convicted or is a registered sex offender but it just goes to show that the state is a lot more interested in looking like they are being tough on sex offenders rather than actually doing something that may help prevent future problems with real sex offenders.

110 Million US users or worldwide?

Also, why would a sex offender sign on as John Q Sexoffender? All you need is an email address right? Couldn't someone have many myspace.com accounts. I'd think a perv might be the type of person to do such a thing.

I Just had about 89,000 of my Usernames on Myspace deleted. Is anyone else having this problem? Is Myspace having some issues with data loss?

Why can't I login to these accounts anymore?

Those morons an Myspace are violating human rights by removing some people ..
Why a hell THEY know that someone was sex offender before in its life??
Isn`t that a privacy violation???
Also what gives them right to discriminate people under jail/sentence time?
I think that is just Nonsense! I hate closed systems that OWN their users, like Myspace!
Do not use Myspace if you want your freedom!

Most of these people are not really 'sex offenders'. I only call people a sex offender when they have forced someone into sex against their will.... not pedosexuals, not homosexuals (which at one time were called 'sex offenders'), not anyone else.
It's about time to realize that forcible rapists are the only 'sex offenders' and that the way to fix the problem of them: be a little freer with your sexual favors, women! The fact is that most 'sex offenders' are men with very high libidos who aren't getting enough or men with normal libidos who aren't getting any, and in both cases have been EXTREMELY poorly treated by women when they have sexually propositioned them.

Pedosexual? Is that a new term...or yet another way of the pedophile community justifying their actions?
