NAD C300 - Potentiometer doesn't zero out.

Hi

I've just bought a Nad C300 on Ebay and quickly noticed that the potentiometer doesn't fully zero out, in fact it's louder than I usually have it to go to sleep. I was just wondering if I need to replace the potentiometer or if it just needs a good clean as it does crackle when moved.

I'm a complete novice when it comes to fixing audio equipment so any help would be much appreciated. Cheers.
