Not bad. Not really good enough for real games though. Also 1/10s is a little misleading. I thought .2 or .3 when I saw the title.

100ms!!! OMG lag!!! Hopefully they can speed it up some, it would be disappointing trying to play games online where the input had more lag than the net connection.

Don't forget though. If you use this for anything real online, the lag is ADDED. So this 0.1 lag + a reasonable ping of .05 is 0.15 seconds. Still not bad but it definitely increases the importance of a low ping for internet games.

Natal on the Xbox, slow laggy strapped to overburdened CPU and GPU.

Natal on decent gaming PC, there would be no problem.

Natal on Xbox, closed system easily controlled by MS

Natal on decent gaming PC, ok but on noob machine it will be an MS techsupport headache unless they make minimum requirement stringent.

I doubt that it's a CPU issue with the lag. It's more likely due to some rather complicated algorithms. It's still an amazing piece of technology, even at 100ms.

Now I want to know the lag in REAL GAMES. Those demos are press releases to gain hype meaning the processing is all geared towards making the lag seem next to nothing. Once you add the hundreds if not thousands of aspects to a game that is successful (AI, physics for everything that can move, 10-50 moving character models, etc) the lag is going to increase because you can not devote to processing power to the motion prediction needed for Natal.

@830hobbes... 1/10 is always .1 seconds. How would 1/10th of a second be .2 or .3? How many times does 1 go into 10... 0.1 times. I'm just saying, but .1 s for all the calculations its doing in addition to the game play calculations is very good in my book.

How conveniant that you say 1/10 of a second when everybody everywhere measures lag in milliseconds. 100ms is huge! Gamers are complaining about monitors that have input lag higher than 30-40ms, and you make it look like it's ok...

1/10th of a second is bad.
It reduces Natal to gimicky actions.
The Wii has much lower response time on pointing, but an equivilent, sometimes slower response from the accellerometers, but even this makes most games rediculiously broken. Expect the same from Natal.

This process needs a dedicated core or perhaps GPGPU work not a .1s delay.

maybe it's time to review your grade school math...

I'm all for the success of Natal, but .1 sec just seems...slow?

Meh, I don't know. I think I would still rather a physical controller over motion-sensing technology, at least in most titles. Guess I won't know if this is something I will want until October.

Everybody is freaking out over 100ms lag time on prototype hardware?

With 8 months till launch I'd be more concerned with cleaning out bugs, glitches and ensuring the hardware is reliable rather than a bit of input lag.

The processing is done by the X360, not natal right? That means the input lag can be reduced in down the road. Even after launch if absolutely necessary via a software update.

I think its way too early to judge this technology.
