My Tactic 3D Sigma is dying and two headsets on ncix.ca are on sale, the Logitech G35 and the Sennheiser PC350.

[G35] http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=41740&vpn=981-000116&manufacture=Logitech&promoid=1062
[PC350] http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=29043&vpn=PC350&manufacture=Sennheiser%20Electronics&promoid=1062

I heard the PC350 is better if you have a good sound card. I'm not sure what my sound card is I have a pretty old pre built HPE-500f with some crappy Alvorix motherboard. Under device manager I see AMD High Definition Audio, Realtek High Definition Audio and Sound Blaster Tactic(3D) Sigma. I'm not an audiophile so I probably won't notice the little things but I do listen to Pandora when I'm gaming so I'd like it to be decent for music and I'm assuming both would fit my expectations for music considering they're mid ranged headsets. I don't care for software/features I just want a headset with good sound and a good mic with reliable build quality.

headsets will always sound better with a solid soundcard, but they can still product hifi sound on average audio soundcards/chips. the g35 is a good headset for the price, but the senns will beat it hands down. both the 350s and 360s are great gaming headsets.

if you're looking at the higher midrange models, it's also worth checking the MMX 300. beyerdynamic makes a solid set of cans and their gaming hybrid is excellent.

best of luck. cheers :)

I'm just skeptical because almost every review on NCIX says to buy a sound card with the Sennheiser PC 350's and that the bass is weak unless you "Hero Mod" it. I don't want to have to mod a headset to get its full potential. While on the other hand there seem to be no complaints about the G35's sound and none of the reviews mentioned getting a sound card with the G35's as I assume it comes with a USB adapter thing? I feel like the 350 is for people with a good sound card/amp. I'm scared I'll plug in the 350's to my onboard and they will sound like tin cans. Are you sure the 350's sound better than the G35 without a soundcard/amp?
