Need advice on a new replacement laptop.

I bought it about two years ago. Samsung NP700G7C.

I disconnected the screen connections (i believe due to the fact the screen does not come on, using hdmi to my tv to post this on said laptop) I would like to replace it but have been having a hard time finding a replacement at the cost i want to spend. I do not really need a gaming laptop anymore, I have converted to console. Any help with getting the best deal for especially with Black Friday being tomorrow would be greatly appreciated. looking to spend under 1000usd.

I'm sorry idk how this exactly works and didn't see a reply option. Of really like your Acer suggestion but should I choose the 290x over the 860m? If they are close to the same price? And do I need an i7 cpu? Im not planning on doing much multi tasking or editing.. Could I go with a high end i5?
