I'm looking for a cad and light gaming laptop for school; just need to last 2 years and have a decent keyboard.. As I already have a built pc for the majority of work..
Questions that I need answered?
1) are the hd 520 or 5500 worth it? If so would you need a skylark Intel cpu? Are they more powerful then a r9 series or 940m?
2) 2 in 1; does it take away a lot of what gamers like in original laptops and does having a very small keyboard and extra software make them relatively slower?
3) what would you recommend for under 1000$? I am a student so the discount should apply if available!

the Dell Alienware's 960M is probably the best bet out of these options.
the Lenovo's M375 GPU is a bit weaker.
the other Dell's integrated graphics is much weaker than either of them.

if getting a laptop for gaming or other intense graphics processing you may want to stick to MSI or ASUS, though i've seen some Alienwares with decent specs & prices lately. and should start shopping at your max budget. once you pass ~$900 the options to seem to increase substantially.

check out Newegg.com or Amazon rather than the home sites of the manufacturers, prices will be better.
