Need help about a virus?

Hi, I wanted to go to speedtest.net but i accidentally typed sppedtest.net and google chrome blocked my entrance saying this website contains malwares and stuff.. I closed the tab and all but i'm not sure if any virus actually got in my computer, but as i was playing cs:go the game froze for about 5-10 seconds and it worried me cause it never did that before, my rig is a beast it shouldn't freeze on such games.. To be sure i was virus free i did a full format but i had the external backup hard drive plugged in the computer when i typed that website so i don't know if any virus got into the external hard drive.. Can someone explain to me about viruses and if my external hard drive got infected or my computer in general? In the past i accidentally downloaded a virus and my anti virus said it blocked it but each day the pc was getting sicker and sicker and i don't know if any virus got into my pc again!

I highly doubt were infected , Google Chrome does a good job of the COMPLETE block , the freeze in the game was probably coincidence.
