Need help connecting laptop and I-pad to a tv or surround sound.

I have a ACER Aspire 7720-4634 or ACER 7720Z. Would like to connect to a tv or surround sound if possible. I also have a Apple I-pad air I would like to connect to the tv or surround sound. Can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

Use HDMI cable with the computer and TV.

You should buy the appropriate cables, nothing more
