Need help making a dicision on exchanging computer

I have a desktop build
Specs :-
I5 6600
8GB DDR4 RAM
Msi 4GB 1050ti
550 watts power supply
Vortex v4 case
Msi 1100m gaming motherboard
1TB hdd 120GB ssd both western digital

Theres One guy who wants to exchange his y50 i7 4700hq, 860m 4gb, 16gb ddr3 ram for my desktop.

He claims he bought that laptop last year and he is desperate for a desktop.
Should I make this deal ? Is it worth it ?

BTW I need a laptop for my college

Definitely not, not unless I needed the laptop for school which you do.
Even then however it's a terrible trade.
Ask him to throw about $200 on top. You're going for half the GPU power.
If he's really as desperate as he claims he'll at least go for a fair deal.
He didn't buy that laptop last year, the hardware is outdated, so unless he bought used that's a red flag.
