Hello,

I have a week to make a decision on buying a laptop (for work/gaming). I'm on a pretty tight budget, so both of these laptops cost pretty much the same. I would like to choose the laptop that has the best performance, and I need your help to understand which one is better.

1#
Acer Aspire E E5-474G
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 940M 2GB
CPU: 6th Generation Intel Core i5-6200U (Dual Core, 2.3GHz, Turbo 2.8GHz 3MB cache)
RAM: 4GB DDR3
Storage: 1TB, SATA (5.400 rpm) HDD

2#
Acer Aspire E5-575G-58M8
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 940MX 2GB
CPU: Intel Core i5-7200U
RAM: 8GB DDR4
Storage: 1TB HDD

(I hope I got these things correct, I'm still pretty new to this stuff AND not a navive english speaker)

Also could any of these laptops run games like Sims, OW, or Paladins?

(If it's of any help, here are links to both of these laptops. They're not in English, but i hope you can understand something

Any answer, even a simple opinion on which would you choose, would matter a lot!

The 940m and 940mx are overall pretty similar in performance, though the 940mx is generally slightly better. There is not too much of a performance difference between the 6th gen i5-6200u and 7th gen i5-7200u. But the i5-7200u generally have lower power consumption than the i5-6200u so assuming both laptops had exactly the same part / components, the i5-7200u will likely provide 30 to 45 minutes more battery life based on average daily usage (no games).

Below are some average FPS benchmarks for both 940m and 940mx. In some games the 940m performs just as well or a little better depending on the resolution being compared. Examples are Rocket League, Battlefield 1, Overwatch, and the Sims 4. If money is really tight then the Acer Aspire...

If money is really tight then the Acer Aspire E E5-474G should be fine, but I recommend you upgrade the RAM to 8GB of RAM since 4GB of RAM generally means Windows needs to swap data between RAM and the hard drive more often because games tend to use a lot of RAM. Swapping data between RAM and the hard drive can cause stuttering and lower performance.
