Need help to connect TV to HTS

I have LG TV LW4500
And Philips HTS3569
My TV has an optical output but the HTS didn't has Optical in , it only has coxal in and normal Aux in ( the red and white cable ) , is it normal to connect it using a Digital to analog converter and dose this give me a 5.1 surround sound or I need an optical to coaxial converter , and put in mind that the HTS support dolby digital pro logic 2.

You need an optical to coax digital converter.

If you use a DAC you will get Dolby Proligic2 but not Dolby Digital which is better.
