Hey, guys.

I have an Acer Aspire V3-572G laptop. It has a single 3.5mm jack (like on smartphones), which is used for both, input and output. Usually, when I plugged a device into the jack, a small window would pop up asking me what the device is (speaker, headphones, headset, microphone, etc.), but I think that one time I accidentally ticked "Do not ask again (or something)", and chose the headphones. Now, I want to use a microphone, but no window pops up. Can someone help me get this window to pop up again? Thanks in advance.

Just right click that speaker to the lower right hand side and select Playback or Recording devices. From there you will see Speakers / Headphones. Click in them and then click "Set Default". You can do the same thing in recording options in the Recording tab.

I tried to do that, but the problem is that the microphone is not seen. I had a different window popping up.

If you right-click in that screen you should have an option to show disabled devices.

That doesn't help. All that appears is the stereo mixer, which does not appear. What I need is the small window that pops up and lets me choose what to use.
