So I'm saving up for some time and I want to change my Lifechat Microsoft LX-3000 for something better, I'm in doubt between five headphones that are:

Razer Tiamat 7.1

I do not care much for the microphone, and surrond sound is not a preference for me though I do not mind having, what matters most to me is the quality of the audio itself and if possible if someone could tell me the Pros and Cons of each headphone I appreciate it.

What are you hooking these up to and what will you be using these for?

If you don't care for a mic and surround. Why are you looking at gaming headsets?

If audio quality is your biggest concern, then some good regular headphones are your best choice.

Happy listening, the Prisoner...

I'll be using them for gaming.

I don't care for surround sound because I heard it sacrifices audio quality for a more realistic surround, however if it isn't truth surround it is then.

As for the mic I pretend to buy a standalone mic cause they have better quality, however if one of those headphones have a good mic I'll stay with it. Cause I want something with good quality, not professional godlike quality but good.

You might confusing types of game headsets, some gaming headsets like the Turtle Beach Earforce HPA2(no longer made) are very good for gaming/movies and average for music use multiple speakers in the headsets. Some call it a gimmick(and probably never heard this headset) but they sound better, surround sound wise then some stereo headphones, or it could be my perceived difference.

The trend is just use good quality stereo headphones and let the DSP do their work, Nothing wrong with that. You have to remember that game audio(lower quality) isn't the best anyways. I have a pair of Stax and Koss headphones which are excellent stereo headphones so the DPS processor is the key whether if your surround is good.

In terms of headset mics, you should check out some TwitchTV streamers and listen to them and see if their mics have acceptable quality. Some use more prosumer mics other use the headset mics.

Having never heard the headphones/headsets you listed, your ears are the best judge. If you can listen to all of them before you buy, that would be the best option. But just picking one out of the bunch, it would be the Creative ZxR headsets just because Creative's DSP is very good.

Happy surround, the Prisoner...
