need help with my new headset

i just got the hyper x cloud revolvers and plugged the two cords into the mic and headphone slots correctly on my motherboard witch is the msi z170a gaming m5 motherboard and the mic is not working in discord i tested it with a freind and i dont not know what is wrong with it i can here things through it just fine but the mic wont work.

Stupid question, but have you changed your default audio device in Windows/discord?
