Hello I'm new to the community I would like to ask if NVIDIA GEFORCE 840M 4G can run MEDIUM settings on next gen games these days.
here are the specs of the laptop I'm planning to buy:

NVIDIA GEFORCE 840M 4 GB

According to the specs I think that you may be referring to lenovo z50 laptop. (If I am not wrong).
Your graphic card can actually run 'next gen' games.
For example if you are planning to buy gta 5 (pc) next year, this graphic card is not that super good to run this game at high settings..but you can run it on LOW or MEDIUM settings.You can check the system requirements for various other games too by clicKing on the link provided below. This site will help you to know if you laptop can run the game or not.

On 766p it will be able to run most games on med-high and some on low.
