Need help with recording

Whenever I record with Fraps, it brings my FPS down to 14 and frame-locks there. I tried using Action, and the same problem occured. Any solutions?

problem is fraps like to record in uncompressed video and tweaking usually doesn't help much. Would recommend another program such as hypercam, camstudio , dxtory
