I plan to replace my existing LG 55SM8600PUA 4K LED TV. I am no expert on TV technology, so I request recommendations on TVs that could replace my LG TV. I did some research and what I am looking for is a QLED, Mini-LED, or OLED TV from a proven and reliable brand that is approximately 55-inches in size, well built, and could last for at least 5 to 7 years at a price under $1000. I would like Dolby Vision (willing to make an exception with Samsung), HDMI 2.1, 120 Hz or higher refresh rate, good upscaling for 1080p content, and gaming capability [for gaming PC and game console (e.g. Switch 2, XBOX, PS5)]. If it helps, I am mounting the TV in a room which does receive sunlight, but I have shades and curtains on the windows.
In addition to the TV, I plan to replace my 4.1 sound bar surround sound system. Like the TV, I am looking for a proven and reliable sound system, which can also be a sound bar system, from a reputable brand that is 4.1 or 5.1 surround sound, has good speech settings and capabilities for movies and shows, and does well with music such as FLAC and Spotify. It would also be nice if I could make Bluetooth phone calls through the system, but it is not necessary. The price I am looking at is around $300 or less.
Lastly, I am considering replacing my 4K Blu Ray disc player. I have a Sony UBP-X700 4K disc player which has served me well for almost 5 years. I understand that there is a newer version of my player called the Sony UBP-X700M 4K disc player. What is the difference between these two players? Is it worth upgrading to the X700M? Is there an alternative 4K Blu Ray disc player from a reputable brand with Dolby Vision capability that is $300 or less that I should consider? Or, should I hold on to my existing 4K disc player?
Thanks in advance.
