Need Tablet with excellent ext. Monitor support

Gang I'm having a tough time finding legitimate info on how well the current crop of Windows 8.1 tablets connect with external monitors.
Anyone have one that they have tested/used that works perfectly, no questions asked???
this shouldn't be hard but from what I'm reading, it is.
[with ipad, its nearly impossible to get it debuggy]

In theory a Windows 8 tablet with an HDMI interface will connect to an external monitor just like a desktop will. Since it is not considered unusual there is probably not going to be much out there.
