Ok so i Have a idea for a gaming and school hybrid. There idea is to get a ultrabook for school; something with good battery life ,a decent display for content creation and at least a 13.3 inch display (also is 8 gigs of ddr4 ram enough for content creation?). The reason I'm calling this a hybrid is because i am going to connect it to an external gpu(recommendations for this highly appreciated). So it needs to have thunderbolt 3 support and the more of these ports the better because tb3 is the future. My budget for the ultrabook alone is around $1500 usd. Also a comfortable keyboard would be great. Thanks for any body that replies.

IN that budget you can fit Lenovo Yoga or even ThinkPad T series, so I would you suggest something like that. Take look at their site you will see than more than 1 model fit your requirements and fit into budget you have (http://www3.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-t-series/c/thinkpadt)

Also, I am using Lenovo laptops since they bouhgt laptop divison from IBM and I am exremelly satisfied so this my advice is not objective, I am some kind of "Lenovo fan" ... :)

OK. To be honest, because of the current price of the Razer core among other things, I would suggest that you buy a cheaper laptop and a powerful desktop. It will be far better value and cheaper too, with the laptop having longer battery life, and note taking, web browsing etc doesn't require an i7. I would like to credit a video made by DeV for this idea. The basic concept is that building a gaming desktop and buying a cheap laptop is far better value then buying a gaming laptop, and, for that matter, a powerful laptop and an expensive razer core. If you need a laptop, you will be able to get something with a 7700hq and a 1060 for less than $1500. If you don't need the power on the go you can get a chromebook (https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Chromebook-CB3-131-C3SZ-11-6-Inch-Dual-Core/dp/B019G7VPTC/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1477145525&sr=8-2&keywords=Acer+Chromebook+11&linkCode=sl1&tag=ax03f-20&linkId=f9ed86d914c7e561c2dffbc5e622d339) and a desktop, for $1570

The desktop in question has a GTX 1080, a 6 core Ryzen 5 1600. I would change the balance to a R7 1700 and a GTX 1070, however the 1070 is almost at the price of a 1080 right now (because of cryptocurrency miners), and is therefore a far better value.

Also you will have a much larger display, and a GPU capable of driving a 1440p panel with ease.

What you just said would've made perfect sense except 1 i have no space for a full desktop setup. And im also getting an ultrabook over a chromebook because i am going to be doing more than than web surfing and typing docs as i will be using this for computer science. But thank you for taking the time to reply.
