Recently my hdd went bad. Replaced with ssd with intent of clean install (mint). USB ports have not worked for quite some time and thus rufus and or netbootin aren't of use. (USB ports work intermittently at best... able to load free dos) DVD drive works, but will not boot bootable CDs. BIOS priority is set first to DVD. Any ideas or work arounds? The Laptop is a lenovo p500.
Thanks.

Lol, I was hoping you weren't going to say that... It seems to be a viable option as there is PXE network boot capability, unfortunately I have never done it myself and am not certain if it will work with a laptop that currently has no MBR as it has that new ssd just sitting in there with no OS.... I am going to give it a shot.. also thought about replacing the usb ports but maybe it's a motherboard issue... I swear, such a pain in the behind... Thanks for you help! I greatly appreciate it :)
