Netbook/Ultraportable recommendations

I'm looking for a netbook/ultraportable.
Budget is $500 although I may spend a more if it's worth it.

Priorities are:
Battery life
Weight/size (<12')
then performance (mainly browsing web and perhaps office aps)

Linux compatibilty is a plus

Any suggestions on either a particular model or a good place to look are welcome.

I never thought I'd say this, but AMD has actually made something that is better than Intel in every single way. Go for the AMD E-350 platform. It is more expensive than Atom but a much better investment. Also, I'd recommend a screen size of at least 11.6.

Can you recommend a AMD E-350 model? Apart from HP dm1 I can't seem to locate any other models.

11.6 is probably the ideal size. I have access to a 15" from work so this is really for portability. Tempted by a iPad (for portability) but might as well get a "computer".

The Dell Duo looks cool but after the novelty wears off I don't think the specs are worth it.
