Hi there
So, i just bought a bunch of brand new gear for my desktop - new CPU, GPU, mobo, PSU, and a new SSD.
I would not have bought the new SSD if not for ALL the horror stories regarding sticking an old hard drive in with a new mother board - calamities ensue was the main theme.
I'm keeping the old hard drive and making it the secondary storage, and obviously making the SSD the boot drive with a fresh install of windows 7 on it.
My question is, do i need to go through all my programs on the old drive and reinstall them on the new SSD? Or can i just run them straight from the old one?
I understand putting them on the new one would make them much faster in terms of loading times, but i have concerns about reinstalls - particularly Battlefield 3, which with all the DLC ive accrued im hesitant about losing.
Is reinstalling everything on the new drive necessary?
note: i apologise if this is seen as a dumb question to some, i just don't the answer
