New Laptop for College

I am planning on buying a new laptop for college in October. I have a gaming desktop that runs wonderfully, so the laptop will be for secondary use. I want something light that will be easy to carry with me.

1. What is your budget? 
$600 - $900

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 
13-14 in

3. What screen resolution do you want? 
1920 x 1080

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? 
Portable, under 4 lbs

5. How much battery life do you need? 
8+hrs

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? 
No gaming on the laptop, I have a desktop for gaming

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.) 
Using MS Office and online research, I will have a lot of tabs open and be moving from office docs to website and back a lot.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? 
256 SSD

Since I don't need the laptop to be my main computer I'm not sure if I may have picked specs that are higher than what I really need. If so let me know. Thanks in advance!
 
Solution
The ASUS one is a pretty good laptop and should suit your needs fine.
The battery however, should last for between 5-7 hours(Depending on the usage)
