New Laptop; Optical Drive Issues

We recently purchased a new laptop from a local department store. It's a Toshiba LS745-S4310. Within a couple hours of use, the computer just stopped reading disks, and after poking around, it seems that the computer wasn't even registering that there was an optical drive of any sort present. Restarting the first time didn't help, restarting a second time had the drive appearing and reading disks again. Occasionally there will be some distortion in audio when playing music from the disk.

At the moment it's working, but I figure this might happen again. Any ideas on what is going on? Should I take it back and get a replacement while I can?

If you will feel better go and ask them to fix it.
If you want to do it by your self here is link with diferent drivers just find the one you need.

definitely take it back. it might be a bad optical drive, dirty lens or it's not properly connected to the motherboard. Either way, it's not operating the way it should, so you should get it replaced.
