Hello,

I'm currently looking for gaming laptops within $1500 budget that is better than my current computer.

Here are my computer's specs:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6700 @2.66GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
4096MB Ram
ATI Radeon HD 5670
DirectX 11

The laptop I'm looking at(up for suggestions too)

A summary:
Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Mobile Processor 2.00 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache, Max Turbo Freq. 2.90 GHz
8GB Ram
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB

The processor is better than my computer's but the video card is a little worse and I was wondering if I could play Bad Company 2 on high settings and FFXIV on medium-high with good fps as on the PC, I could only play BC2 on medium and FFXIV on low-medium.
I'm also looking to use the laptop for at least 3-5 years.

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Hello lastvagabond;

Matching (or bettering) the CPU you'll want that Core i7-2630QM that comes close to matching a Core i7-920 desktop CPU. A nice bump up in CPU power over the Q6700.

What screen resolution did you run with your HD 5670 graphics card?
The GTX 460M is slightly more powerful than your desktop HD 5670.

The GTX 560M is due out shortly and will be replacing the GTX 460M which is showing up in short supply in some places.

If you want to expand your budget a bit you can get a HD 6970M which sits somewhere between the desktop GTS 450 and GTX 460.
Sager NP8150 ~$1554
Core i7-2630QM & HD 6970M

Also @ ExoticPC: You can get the Sager NP8130 / Clevo P151HM1 ~$1200 (without Win7 included)
Core i7 2630QM & GTX 460M, 8GB RAM, 500GB 7200rpm HDD, 15.6" 1920x1080 LCD.
They do price-matching and might come close or beat the CyberPower Xplorer X6-9300.
