New Marantz 1506 won't see Panasonic Viera DVD and TV

New Marantz 1506 AVR and 5 year old Panasonic TV and DVD BluRay, both Viera's, can't connect. Cable is coax from wall to the TV, HDMI from DVD to AVR, HDMI from AVR to TV. Marantz auto-set up (very slick) can't see either - no pic, no sound. I've tried two new HDMI cables - suggestions please!

I assume that the BD player is fine when connected directly to the TV.
Since you aren't getting audio or video the problem seems to be in the receiver. Call Marantz tech support to see if they can suggest a solution short of a new receiver. They are usually quite helpful.

went that route - tech stepped me through the set-up to no avail. Finally gave up and spent $75 on a new DVD - connected on the first try, everything worked. I'll use the old DVD on another TV with no AV receiver in the mix.
