Hmm...I'm willing to bet you idea of medium range is very different than mine, we'll have to get a bit more specific. Here's just a few suggestions as examples that will hopefully narrow down what you may be looking for. Once we have a more defined budget I'll provide several different routes to go within it.
I'm at this point going to assume either 2.0 or 2.1, if you want 5 or 7 you'll have to let me know as that will drastically affect whats available at any given price point. Also, I'm going to start off with what I consider decent quality sound which means I'll be leaving out your garden variety of PC speakers such as Logitech for example.
