nikko 450 power am not powering on is there a common problem here like a fuse turned it on the other day light up for a few seconds and then shut off

Solution
There is probably an AC fuse at the back of the amp near the power cord. If you get a replacement fuse make sure to get the correct amperage and speed (slow or fast blow). Do not try more than one as continued tries might increase the damage. A tech would put the unit on a variac and monitor the current as the voltage is brought up. If the amps drawn peak very quickly then you may have blown channels or the amps power supply may need to be rebuilt. Power supply capacitors do age so in a vintage amp like yours it would not be a surprise.
