Can't get sound from new samsung tv when connected to Panasonic blu ray by hdmi arc

Both the TV and the Panasonic have to support ARC.
The Panasonic has to be connected to the TV HDMI-ARC jack.
ARC has to be turned on in the TV menu. The TV speakers may have to be turned off.
ARC has to be selected as your source in the Panasonic.

Both tv and Panasonic blu ray support arc
Called samsung and they say the TVs arc hdmi port is for in coming signals not out going.
Gonna try optical cable see if that works
