No bass from my 5.1 speakers

So I am plugging my speakers directly into my motherboard but when I try to play music through them all of speakers work apart from the sub woofer. I have tried testing the speakers through windows and when I do so the sub woofer works. I'm so confused.

So, are you saying your AREN'T using the 5.1 inputs on the back of the sub?

while the diagram is for logitech, its something similar for your speakers. the actual speakers connect to the subwoofer, the subwoofer connects to your pc

try turning up the bass gain button (its normally a knob, odd how they used a push button on the front on that set). it could be that it just is not firing at higher frequencies and instead is set to fire at lower frequencies only. also, it would be best to test on some music with very low bass notes.

I am using all the correct inputs to the correct output, I've triple checked it and it still hasn't solved the issue and turning up the bass doesn't do anything

I am using the 5.1 interfaces on both the motherboard and subwoofer

Yeah I have done all of that and when I'm in the software testing all the speakers they all work individually and the subwoofer functions properly just when I'm using the speakers the subwoofer doesn't output any bass
