no bass from subwoofer

Hi my home theatre system worked fine in my old house. I moved house and set it up, only to play music so is not connected to a tv or monitor. Have not set it up via the microphone. All the speakers work except the subwoofer. any ideas

1 Make sure that the sub woofer is turned on in the receiver speaker setup menu.
2.Make sure it is connected to the subwoofer out on the receiver (some have a subwoofer input too)
3.Make sure it is plugged into a working AC outlet. Is the woofer turned on?
4 Check the woofer level on the subwoofer and receiver.
