No HDMI Arc on TV - Sony Soundbar Won't Work

I have a TCL TV which only has 2 HDMI (non arc) output. My Sony HTNT3 requires HDMI Arc or a digital optical input in the TV. I tried connecting the sound bar with a digital optical cable to my X1 cable box but that did not work either. Is there a way to convert one of my HDMI input on my TV to digital optical or HDMI arc so I don't have to buy a new TV immediately?

Inputs can't be converted to outputs.
The optical audio connection should work. Make sure you selected the optical input on the soundbar. Check the audio menu on the cable box and try changing the output type. There are usually only two options.
