I have just received today my Sky Soundbox and have set it up and all is working fine apart from the Optical Cable option

My TV is a Hitachi 50" 50HYT62U and it has no Optical Cable port
The only connections I have are
Headphone out
SPDIF connection
Can someone tell me if I can purchase a converter to use the Headphone out and if I can what do I have to buy?

I want to set it up so I can used the Soundbox with my Apple TV box & maybe a DVD or Blue Ray player
Any help gratefully received

Solution
You need to convert the SPDIF coax digital audio output to toslink digital audio output.

You don't want one that converts to analog (2 RCA connections) or the reverse (optical to coax).
You could convert the headphone out to optical digital audio but it won't sound as good as the above.

Hi

Many thanks for your reply but I do not think it will work, I have spent a couple of hours wading through a load of technical jargon which |I really do not understand but in simple terms - I have grasped that this link you have given me is an Optical SPDIF cable & is not suitable for devices that are not optical i.e. it will not work on a standard 3.5mm stereo analogue input/output and my TV does not have an optical output only the small 3.5mm jack on tv on head phone out and I then need something which will work plugging into my SKY soundbox in the optical socket.

Grateful for your help
