no power no charge.

So i had to buy a new ac charger for my asus Q550L notebook pc because my old one git damaged. The computer died before i was able to get a replacement. I finally got a replacement charger and now i cant get the lights to turn on and it wont turn on. Even with the charger plugged into the laptop and it sat overnight, it still wont do anything. I just bought this computer in June of 2014 for my sons homeschooling. How do i fix this problem please??

Do the following steps and see if it helps.
Switch of everything and unplug the charger from the laptop.
Take the battery out.
Plug the charger to the laptop and the power supply and switch your laptop on.
If it switches on, your laptop is OK, the battery is the problem part.
If it doesn't switch on, take it to a service center.
If it switches on, again turn it off, unplug, put the battery back and give it around 10 minutes charge and then switch it on. If it works normally for sometime, your problem is solved.
