Hello,

I'm trying to connect two amps on two different stories in my apartment. However, I can't get it to work.

Amps:
Pioneer A20
Denon Upo-99

I already know the following:

- The cable for hooking up the two amps is working
- Both amps work
- The music source works

I want to connect the two using a recorder out channel on one and using an aux in on the other. However, I can't get any sound thru.

I have tried the following:

- Speaker channel B (A20) --> Aux in (Denon) ((only managed to control the audio of the pioneer with the denon??))
- Recorder out (pioneer) -> Aux in (Denon)
- Recorder out (denon) -> aux in (Pioneer)

What am I not getting here?

Solution
1. Speaker to line level input can damage the Denon. You would use one of these

to avoid that. The Pioneer volume control would affect both as you already know.
2. Connect the record out of the Pioneer to the Aux in of the Denon. Select Aux as you source on the Denon. Select what you want to listen to on the Pioneer (any input BUT the recorder input). The record out level is fixed. The volume controls are independent. You chose your source on the Pioneer.
