Hello, i have a hitachi plasma tv trying to hook up hdmi from tv to cable box no sound help

Check the settings on your TV. You may need to enable HDMI audio.

Check your warranty status. Hitachi's have known issues with HDMI ports going funny, and audio amp failures, on a handful of their plasmas. You would likely need your main and sub digital boards replaced.

You can try installing a software upgrade, but I doubt it will correct it. Call for service. Hitachi has some pretty good out-of-warranty support as well.
