No sound on my toshiba

I'm not getting any sound from my speakers and their being detected as headphones can nayone tell me why???

Do you mean external speakers ?

no the built in speakers

Did this start coincidental with some other change -- like installing a new version of Windows -- or altering sound settings in Control Panel or mixer settings in Volume Control.

it happened when I installed Win7

Look for a Win7 driver set for your model from Toshiba site.
