No Surround sound in games.

Hello all. I have z906 speakers. They have both analog and spdif support.
I'm using a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro which i just bought because i thought my onboard sound card was crap.
When i plug them in with analog cables, only 2 front work ( yes i tested every possbile cable, every option in my sound board.)
When i plug in spdif, both ac3, dts mp3 etc work for movies etc etc, (with ffsdshow)
Now my problem is, why with games and with having Dolby Digital Live enabled from my sound card i only get stereo sound? with both analog and spdif?
using creative's most recent drivers for windows 8
Please help me because i already spend 60euro for new sound card and almost 9 hours of internet searching..

right click on the audio icon in the system tray and select playback devices, select your audio output and go to configure, you need to change the audio settings to 5.1

you cannot change spdif into 5.1 setting, as i said i already tried everything

using the analogue outputs will give better audio quality than dolby digital live.

once changed to analogue output do what i said above.

it was something to do with the speaker, so i generally paid 60 euro for nothing ^_^ woohooo

i just cant believe that i cannot play surround from dolby digital live through spdif, and i even freaking paid for it..

dolby digital live has worse sound quality than the 3.5mm connections since its compressed and can only play 144kbps per channel.
