Question No video

I purchased an old VCR to export old videos to my computer (HP AIO) and eventually record them on DVD. To do this, I purchased the RCA to HDMI converter hooked it up correctly (yellow to yellow for video, red and white for audio and HDMI output to HDMI input on computer) but when I press "Play", no videos show up on my computer. If I use the RCA cables and connect to the TV that way, I get videos. But with HDMI nothing.
Any idea what I might have done wrong.

Can you post a link to the exact converter you purchased?

What application are you using to capture the video itself?

You need something like this to perform this task:

I used an older version years ago to do what you are doing. It will take time to capture all the VHS material, however long each tape is in recorded length.
