Nokia sux. They spent 10 years to end up losing their massive lead in mobile phones, producing operating system which was always worse than the previous version. Where in the hell did they spent all those years and billions in development. Lots of people and managers should have been fired 6-8 years ago.

They should disappear from the business altogether soon however.

STFU. Symbian was TOP stuff before Android/iOS came out and everyone went for the touchscreen/social networking/apps craze. Nokia just failed in that craze since they didn't switch to Android.

In an unrelated news, new deals were reached between nokia and foxcon, and the weekly work hours of foxcon employees were increased to 70.

So they are actually just moving their manufacturing operations to cheaper labor force of China. Their losses in 2010-11 was due to Symbian becoming a dead crappy platform. And then spent most of 2011 with a dying product line that few people wanted to spend $300~500 on.

Great job with "connecting 14,000 with unemployment counselors"

Er... Symbian was top as it was the only smart system out there, then blackberry came out with something a bit better. Symbian has quickly become outdated in the past few years. Its like comparing Windows 3.0 to Windows XP. Symbian was dying because Nokia didn't keep up.

Nokia going Android would just make Nokia another Android brand on the market. Going Windows allows them to be a leader... something different. I'm looking at getting the Lumina 800 once WP8 comes out and they increase the screen resolution.

Guess what people is going to work now making Nokia phones!

I bet they'll have even worse conditions than the Foxxcon's Apple factories.

Cheers!

Transfer to the Philippines! So many people are still using budget Nokias here. But I see midrange and highend consumers switching to Android/iOS at a significant pace. Don't let your lead slip in the texting capital of the world ;-)

Which is VERY BAD for US too. As ALL the N8 with the broken purple tint screens where ALL made in china. The ones from Hungary didn't have those problems.

In fact ALL products made in china are crap. Whether they have a Nokia, Sony, HP or Acer logo. This has been proven time and time again. STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM CHINA! It's dilusional to think that you'll save some bucks because you end up spending it all on lawsuits, RMA, refunds etc... And in the end the chinese copy your inventions/technology and sell them ultra-cheap (and ukltra-crappy), the saying ' to poach on a person's preserves' comes to mind.

Bing navigation isn't shit. The problem is the lack of licensing from Navteq, a part of Nokia. These should all improve when WP8 comes.
