Not receiving all transponders

I am having a problem with my DirecTV system; I am not receiving a signal on
all transponders. The signal strength is excellent on all transponders I am
receiving signal; there is zero signal on the signal meter for those I am
not receiving.

Is this a LNB problem, or a receiver problem?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Some transponders don't send out a signal. Which ones are you having
problems with.

The problem you are having is due to DirecTV's spot beaming those
transponders. The signal is just not reaching your location.

Look at this spot beam map for more info...

graphics)
or this...

Hope this helps!

101 is DirectTV's main bird, there are about 4 transponders in any given
area that will show little or no signal on them.

Are you getting all your programming? If so then don't worry about the
transponders that are not showing up.

If not have you checked for small branches hanging in front of the dish? If
you have clear line of site as far as you can tell, you're next step is to
contact the help desk and ask which transponders in you're area have little
or no signal. If you're have issues with transponders that should have a
high signal level then a service call may be in order.

You are not going to use all transponders. Each transponder hold approx. 10
channels. 101 has 30 transponders alone. 110 & 119 also have approx. 30
transponders (all though the software will never tell you, as transponders
on these Sats are regional). That's approx 900 possible channels if you were
able to actually receive all 90 transponders.

If you're not missing programming content, then I would not worry about the
missing or low powered transponders.

Keep in mind that most receivers have a signal threshold of about 30%, where
anything lower than that will be displayed as 0%. You may be getting a weak
signal on those transponders, and the receiver is simply displaying a 0%
signal strength.
